With huge opportunities ahead and an interesting range of projects currently being delivered, we are looking for detail orientated, commercially astute Financial Accountant to oversee the Financial Reporting, Project Financial Management and Transactional Oversight for the organisation. This is a dynamic role requiring someone who can bring clarity and insight across multiple business units and project streams.

Responsibilities of the role

• Maintaining and managing accurate financial ledgers and reports (including project budgeting, project forecasting, project cost control and accounts payables/receivables)
• Partner with project teams to monitor and manage project finances, forecasts, and cost tracking.
• Produce and maintain Work in Progress schedules, ensuring accurate revenue recognition and cost allocation.
• Ensure consistent compliance with New Zealand accounting practices and that all taxation requirements are met.
• Support the Finance Manager with management accounting including financial planning, input on significant financial decisions, short-range and long-range goals, plans and budgets as required.

Who we’re keen to speak to

• 6+ years’ experience in a Financial Accountant role (CA preferred, but not necessary)
• Accounting experience within the NZ trades, construction or infrastructure sectors is a must
• Excellent financial and commercial acumen, sound knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices
• Strong communication skills
• Great attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and prioritise
